‘Ratto di Polissena’ by Pio Fedi
This photograph examines the hand of Neoptolemus (son of Achilles), as he captures Polyxena during the fall of Troy. The juxtaposition between Neoptolemus's firm grip and Polyxena's tender, exposed body captures the helplessness of the moment, as well as the pathos so central to tales of Greek mythology.
