A print of a headless Meleager — the fragmentary surviving torso of a classical statue of the Greek hero of the Calydonian boar hunt, of the type associated with the 4th century sculptor Skopas of Paros and known through many Roman marble copies.

Meleager was a prince of Calydon in Aetolia, one of the Argonauts and the leader of the great hunt that killed the Calydonian boar — an enormous beast sent by Artemis to ravage the country in punishment for a neglected sacrifice. The hunt is one of the earliest Greek mythological subjects in the visual arts, appearing on vase paintings from the archaic period; Meleager's statue type, in which he stands with a spear, the boar's head at his feet, and a hunting cloak thrown over one shoulder, was a Hellenistic standard translated into Roman marble in the imperial period. The complete versions, at the Vatican and elsewhere, are among the canonical surviving ancient sculptures; the headless torso is a familiar variant.

The headless torso has been a generative form for European sculpture from Michelangelo's admiration for the Belvedere Torso onward.
